Cover Design Contest for
Skin Crawl by Chloe Spencer

We’re opening this one up.

Truborn Press is hosting a cover design contest for our upcoming 2027 release, Skin Crawl by Chloe Spencer and we’re looking for something that leans fully into the unsettling.

We want a cover that makes people pause. Something that feels a little off. Something that sticks.

DETAILS

THE MAIN REQUIREMENT

Beetles need to be worked into the design somewhere That part’s
non-negotiable. Interpret it however you want.

If you want to push it further….

Not required, but definitely encouraged:

  • Human skin elements

  • Blood

  • Anything that adds to that uncomfortable, can’t-look-away feeling

You don’t need to play it safe here.

THE BASICS

  • Original work only

  • NO AI-generated artwork

  • Stock is fine if you have the proper licensing

You don’t need to worry about perfect title/author placement/polished design…we can adjust that later if needed. Focus on the overall feel and concept.

PRIZES

  • 1st place: $300

    • Your design becomes the official cover for the 2027 release

  • 2nd place: $100

  • 3rd place: $50

HOW THE WINNER IS CHOSEN

The final decision will come from Chloe Spencer herself.

We’re looking for something that fits the story and the tone…not just something that looks technically perfect.

HOW TO SUBMIT

Send over:

  • Your design (high-res JPG or PNG)

  • Your name (or how you want to be credited)

  • Licensing info if you used any stock

A COUPLE OF QUICK NOTES

  • If your design is selected, it will be used as the official published cover.

  • We’ll reach out for final production files if you win.

  • We may choose not to select a winner if nothing feels like the right fit.

  • You retain full ownership of any artwork, designs, and concepts you submit.

  • The winners will be offered a contract for your work.

  • During the whole process of the creation of this book, we will like to share designs on our social media accounts but if you prefer to NOT have your work shared by Truborn Press and/or the author, please let us know. We will reach out and verify with you before posting anything.
