Truborn Press is currently open to BIPOC authors only for horror novella submissions for our 2027/2028 publishing schedule.

If you’ve never been published before, I strongly encourage you to submit. Truly. Some incredible writers are just waiting for their first yes, and we are always open to discovering new voices. Don’t ignore this call thinking it isn’t meant for you.

Details:

• BIPOC submissions only
• Genre: Horror. Strange or weird elements are a big plus.
• Length: 18k–20k words (novella)
• Pay: $.02 per word (capped at $400)
• Accepting full manuscripts only. No idea pitches.
• Absolutely NO AI. If AI is discovered at any stage, you will be placed on our banned list.
• Reminder: These titles are planned for 2027/2028 publication.

Document Requirements:

• Word doc or PDF
• Double spaced
• Times New Roman
• Author bio + author photo
